Importance of buying vitamin supplements for your children

A well-balanced and healthy diet is important for a young and growing child. Without the right nutrients, the child may not be able to grow properly, physically and mentally. Normally, a well-balanced diet comprises of key components such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals.
But, unfortunately, most of the non-organic vegetables and fruits which are sold in supermarkets or other places have a low content of vitamins and minerals. The key causes for this problem are usage of pesticide by farmers and modern day farming practices. Some people opt for organic fruits and vegetables, which usually has a higher content of vitamins and minerals.
If you can afford to buy organic food all the time, then it is fine. However, for those who cannot afford to buy organic vegetables and fruits all the time, buying vitamin supplements might a cheaper alternative. In addition, you do not have to worry about overcooking green vegetables. Vitamins such as B and C are easily soluble in water. So, overcooking green vegetables in any way, fried or boiled, can cause loss of essential vitamins like B and C.
In short, if you have young children, it might be best to give them the appropriate vitamin supplements everyday to be on the safe side.
