A Tough Job Market

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

I can’t believe how tough the job market is. When I first signed up for my IT training classes I thought that as soon as I finished that I would be making tons of money. Well maybe not tons, but I didn’t think that I would have any trouble finding a job. It’s been well over six months now and I am still working at Del Taco. I totally thought by now that I’d be driving a new car and living in a sweet apartment. I am so disappointed that at times I just feel like taking an internship at a company so I can get my foot in the door.

But what is really making me mad is the fact that I’m starting to forget some of my computer based training. I was just so use to the fact that I was able to work on the school computers every other day that I never thought to invest in my own. I’ve got a laptop of course, but all of the expensive programs are too powerful to be run on my old clunker. I’m really in a tough position right now, but I know that things will pick up soon.
